  • Career Outlook

While project management isn’t classified as a career unto itself, managers in many fields—including engineering, construction, real estate, and computer and information systems—spend a great deal of time in the project manager’s role. These valuable employees oversee projects from the planning stages through completion, acting as a link between supervisors, workers, and clients while making sure each facet of the venture confirms to time and budgetary restraints.

The U.S. Department of Labor projects growth rates of 15-16% for construction managers, computer and information systems managers, and similar careers where project management plays a key role. Possessing the skill set and knowledge of a project manager can also lead to higher salaries and broader job prospects for those exploring management careers in different fields.
