The Society for Human Resource Management’s Certified Professional (SHRM-CP™) and Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP™) credentials are poised to become the new standard for all HR professionals around the globe. Designed with the modern business landscape in mind, these are the first HR certifications focused on teaching and testing the real-life competencies, knowledge, and skills HR professionals need to excel in their careers today. The University of Miami SHRM Certification program combines intensive expert instruction with the SHRM Learning System® for SHRM-CP™/SHRM-SCP™, enabling participants to learn faster, retain more knowledge, and focus on successful exam results for these two certifications.
This program is offered through the Office of Professional Advancement at the University of Miami.
Certification exams and credentialing are not associated or included with the University of Miami certificate programs. Graduates or participants of a University of Miami certificate program are independently responsible for certification requirements, costs, and fees and are encouraged to view the certification website and contact test administrators to find out exam details and logistics.
The U.S. Department of Labor projects that the employment rate for human resources managers will grow by 13% between 2012 and 2022, higher than the average growth rate for all professions combined. When new companies are formed and existing companies expand, the need for human resources managers grows as well. The changing landscape of employment laws, including the adoption of the Affordable Healthcare Act, is also expected to create more openings in the human resources field.
All HR professionals seeking certification for the first time can now apply for the exam. HR professionals with existing generalist certifications (PHR ®, SPHR®, GPHR®, HRBP®, or HRMP®) in good standing are eligible for the new SHRM certification by taking an online tutorial.
Financial assistance and payment plans are available for this program. To learn more, please speak with an enrollment advisor at (305) 284-4000.
